European Drugstore Haul (Catrice, Essence, Bourjois, Kiko Milano & More)

May 3, 2017

Hello everybody!

Yes, I have come back from the dead. After a more than a month hiatus .. I got swamped with classes/exams, then went on a 3 week trip to Europe for some much needed R&R … but I have returned, and I bring with me lots and lots and lots of makeup.

Today’s a good ol’ fashioned haul post, which I haven’t done in ages. I hauled everything in this post from an awesome shop in Barcelona called PRIMOR .. it was basically a jackpot of drugstore makeup that I have little-to-no access to here in Canada. As you can imagine, I went ham.

The first thing I went straight in for was Catrice, as I have absolutely no access to it in Canada, and amazon.ca prices are exorbitant for a drugstore brand. They had a full display, but I only picked up a couple lip products, some complexion stuff and an eyeshadow. I grabbed 2 lip creams, lip liners, their contour and highlight duo, as well as their small square eyeshadow singles (I plan to use as a highlight). I was bummed that their foundation and concealer were lilly white and I could not use any of them.

Next thing I went crazy on was the Essence display. Now I know you’re thinking – but isn’t Essence easily available in Canada? Yes it is, but since Essence is a European brand, every single limited edition campaign they do goes through Europe first (and if ever, makes it to Canada). Basically, I hit the Essence jackpot. I went nuts, getting a ton of their new lip liners, liquid lipsticks, lip balms, regular lipsticks, setting spray, eyeshadows, bronzers, foundation, powder and blush.

The next couple of things are singles, since I wasn’t wowed by other things from the brand:

I bought some Bourjois and again, this product is readily available to me at Shoppers, but I did the math in my head, and it was cheaper to buy the Healthy Mix Serum foundation (which KathleenLights raves about) in Barcelona than it was to buy at home (what the heck right? I ended up saving $10 CAD). Not only that, the shade range in Europe was waaaaaaay better than the one in Shoppers or Amazon.

I picked up the Sleek Solstice highlighting palette, which I have been dying to get my hands on. I also grabbed one of the semi-new Milani strobe light highlighters. Beauty blenders were only 13 Euro …I went extremely nuts and bought a bunch as gifts, and kept 2 for myself. There happened to be a Kiko Milano store as well, and I picked up a Extra Volume Sculpt Mascara, again cause KathleenLights raves about it so much.

I will mention that if you guys are ever in Barcelona near the wharf, the Maremagnum mall has a PRIMOR (and the Kiko Milano) in it where I grabbed all my stuff. Not only that, they had L’Oreal, Maybelline, Makeup Academy and Makeup Revolution (I wasn’t feeling any of the products from those stands, so I didn’t grab anything).

Okay! That concludes this crazy drugstore Europe haul. My USA/European counterparts, I know you guys have easy access to this stuff, but I don’t so I had to go crazy. I’ll do separate reviews on all these products in the coming weeks, but before that happens, I do have my VIB Rouge April haul coming too! (Yes, I did order stuff while in Europe. I am cray like that).

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments which products I should review first and what you’d like to see!

Until next time,
